Sutton composer shortlisted in London fanfare competition

Sutton composer Christopher Wood has been shortlisted (one of six) in a fanfare competition being organised by the London Mozart Players. The winning entry will be announced at the start of Queen and Country – the LMP’s Fairfield Halls concert, in Croydon on Thursday 30 June, in the presence of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Prince Edward being Patron of the orchestra.

The winner will be announced and performed at the beginning of the concert, which commemorates both the Queen’s birthday and the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

London Mozart Players – Queen and Country, Fairfield Concert Hall Croydon, Thursday 30 June 7.30pm. Tickets £10-£25. Conducted by Dominic Peckham and featuring music by Vaughan Williams, Mozart, John Williams, Harper, Handel, Haydn and Panufnik.
