It is that time of year to start planning your Christmas Tree for the Sutton New Town Christmas Tree Festival!

“We had 43 trees on display, 25 from community groups and 18 from businesses, small and large.  And we managed to attract over 1,500 visitors, of whom 400 were children under 11,” said a spokesperson.

“The nice folks at St Barnabas Church have agreed to host the trees and the festival will run from its civic opening on the 30th November 2018 to 30th December 2018.

“The aim is to celebrate the many community groups that make the Sutton New Town area so special.  The event will be heavily promoted and we expect a similar number to last years.

“Decorating and displaying a Christmas tree is a wonderful way of being able to promote and celebrate the activity of your group to this large number of people.

“The festival will be a fantastic place to invite your volunteers and members to celebrate the end of another year.  Look out for the events such as the opening reception and community carol singing. You can also arrange for private viewings and use of the space for your own celebration.

“You’ll need to either make or bring your own artificial trees and the lights must be plug in LED.   The trees should be between 4 foot and 6 foot tall.  You can go wild with your imagination and decorate it with the theme you want to promote.
