Chance for young artistic talent to show their work at Sutton New Town’s first Art Exhibition

Encouraging talent in Sutton New Town there is now to be its first ever Art Exhibition which is being organised and will display work by children and young adults in full time education.

Opening Times

The exhibition will be open on Saturday 4th & Saturday 18th May 2019 between 9:30 am and 3 pm.  

There will be a preview reception on the Friday 3rd May (with viewing from 7 pm,  talk at 7:30 over by 8 pm)

Taking Part

If any young person wants to take part in the exhibition then the artwork they wish to show must be submitted in person at the halls on Saturday 27th April 2019 at St Barnabas Church Halls.  

Local artist, Su Stearman will be there to receive the works between 9:30 am and 1 pm.


Please note that we can only accept one work of art per person and we reserve the right to exclude any work of art if it is considered inappropriate to display in public.

The theme of the artwork should be ‘New Life’.

Artwork submitted can be a painting or drawing (2D) or small portable sculpture.

  • Year 7 and above maximum size A2 – Canvas or board – Mounted on a card or framed.  
  • Year 6 and younger – A3 maximum size – on paper or card.

All works must have the following information on the back:

  • Name and age of the Artist
  • Parent/Carers contact number
  • Title of Artwork
  • Medium used
