Fire Brigade make big push to drive up number of staff to become Dementia Friends

With Dementia Action Week falling this month, London Fire Brigade been making a big push to drive up the number of LFB staff who’ve been to a Dementia awareness session and become a ‘Dementia Friend’.

With statistics showing that people living with dementia are at a higher risk of having fires in the home, by taking part in the Alzheimer’s Society initiative, we’re ensuring that our firefighters and control room operatives understand how best to support Londoners with Dementia.
