Sutton-based women’s choir Impromptu were awarded Choir of the Year at the Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival on Saturday 29 June. The choir also won two classes during the competition, bringing their haul of silverware on the day to an impressive
three trophies.

Impromptu are no strangers to success, having been crowned Choir of the Year on two previous occasions in Bournemouth, as well as at many other competitions around the country. They have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and have been widely praised by adjudicators and audiences for the high quality of their singing.

Impromptu will be performing their award-winning programme plus a selection of other songs from their eclectic repertoire at a concert at Sutton Baptist Church on 11 July. They will be joined on the bill by Meantime Chorus – another award-winning choir – for an
evening of outstanding singing.
