Boxpark has been listed as one of the fastest growing UK companies in Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 list, climbing from 36th position in 2018 to 22nd position in 2019 as the company continues to report rapid growth.
2019 saw a record year for sales, growing from £8.4 million in the year to April 2018 to £11.5 million in the year to April 2019. The business is currently forecasting further growth to £16.7 million for 2020 as the brand’s roll out anticipates acquisition of new sites across the UK. The growth is further bolstered by strong underlying trading at the existing three sites in Shoreditch, Croydon and Wembley Park.
The business’ growth has seen the team double in size, from 50 to 100 employees as they continue to eye up nationwide expansion. Appointing KPMG to raise capital investment for an additional 10 sites, Boxpark announced the rollout of two brand-new concepts in 2019, BoxOffice and BoxHall. These new concepts will allow the developer to create leisure sites in spaces ranging from 10,000 to 150,000 square ft, as they look at potential locations across the country.
BOXPARK Croydon opened in October 2016. It is the biggest food and culture outlet of its kind in London with 40 traders from around the world, both established and start-up, set in over 90 shipping containers. BOXPARK Croydon has a 2,000 capacity space, plus a dedicated weekly community events programme that offers music nights, markets, fitness sessions and more for the community and visitors to Croydon to attend for free.
